* 1 package white cake mix
* 1 package strawberry gelatin
* 4 eggs
* ¾ cup vegetable oil
* ½ cup water
* 1 cup fresh sliced strawberries
* Powdered sugar for dusting

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Butter two 8-inch square baking pans, then dust them with flour to prevent the cake from sticking. Pour the cake mix into a large bowl. Add the gelatin and stir to combine the two well. Add the eggs, oil and water and mix for a few minutes until all the ingredients are well combined. Fold in half of the strawberries.

Divide the batter evenly among the two baking pans. Put both pans on the middle oven rack and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until the cake is golden brown. Use a toothpick or skewer to make sure the cake is done in the middle.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack. When they are cooled completely, top each cake with the remaining strawberry slices and dust with some powdered sugar.

You can also easily turn this into a layered cake by whipping up some whipped cream. Fold the strawberries in and layer this cream mixture between the two layers of cake. Dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar, or drizzle some melted dark chocolate over the top.
