No Bake Cookie Recipe

Here’s a fun idea for a rainy afternoon – make a batch this of no bake cookie recipie with your kids. Get them to measure and stir. Older kids can even drop the no bake cookie dough by the spoon-full on wax paper. Since these cookies are no bake, you don’t have to worry about the hot oven. Just refrigerate and enjoy with a big glass of milk.

* 1 cup sugar
* 2 tablespoons baking cocoa
* 1/4 cup margarine
* 1/4 cup milk
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
* 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal, uncooked
* 1/4 cup toasted wheat germ


In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, cocoa, margarine and milk; stir constantly until sugar is melted.

Remove from heat and add vanilla and peanut butter; stir until peanut butter is melted. Add oatmeal and wheat germ; combine until oatmeal is well coated.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto wax paper and cool in refrigerator.
