The Very Hungry Caterpillar

by Eric Carle

“Stunning Illustrations”

Follow the little Caterpillar as he eats his way through one apple, two pears, tree plums etc. and eventually turns into a beautiful butterfly.

The illustrations in this book are just stunning. My daughter loves the repetion in it and I like the fact that we can practice colors, fruits and numbers while we enjoy the book together. This is definitely one book I don’t mind reading over and over again.

Children’s Book Review – The Trip to Panama

The Trip to Panama

by Janosch

A classic European children’s book.

The little bear and the little tiger are the best of friends. They live together in a little house at the river. One day while fishing, the little bear finds a crate with Panama written on it. The crate smells wonderfully like bananas, so the little bear and the little tiger decide to go find this wonderful place.

I grew up with Janosch children’s books in Germany and they have always been some of my favorite children’s books. His illustrations are just beautiful and the stories spark a child’s imagination. It is a lot of fun to be able to share these stories with my daughter now.

Children’s Book Review – The Giving Tree

The Giving Tree

by Shel Silverstein

“Once there was a tree…and she loved a little boy”.

Every day the boy would come to the tree to eat her apples, swing from her branches, or slide down her trunk…and the tree was happy. But as the boy grew older he began to want more from the tree, and the tree gave and gave and gave, until she has nothing left but an stump for her friend (now an old man) to sit on.

The sparingly used words and simple yet beautiful illustrations perfectly convey the emotions of the story. The perfect way to teach your child about sharing and giving and unconditional love.
