Crayon Stain Removal Tips

August 9, 2008

If your kids love to color with crayons (and which kid doesn’t), sooner or later you’ll end up with crayon marks or stains somewhere other than the paper they were coloring on. Here are some tips for removing crayon stains from clothing to walls.
Start by scraping as much of the crayon off.

Spray WD-40 on the stain if the material allows it. I’ve used it successfully on most clothing, the kitchen table, the walls and the door. Let it sit / soak for 4-5 minutes, then rinse with plenty of water, or wipe the surface with a clean, damp cloth.

Wash clothes in the as hot as possible without damaging the fabric. Put a few drops of dishwashing soap or stain remover spray on the stain and let it sit for a few minutes before washing the cloths. Repeat if needed until the stain is gone. Don’t put the piece of clothing in the dryer until the stain is completely gone.
