Stop Feeding Your Kids Junk! – Skip the fast food and frozen TV dinners…Find out how easy it is to cook a home-cooked meal each night by planning it ahead of time. Grab your free Menu Planning Basics report at www.MenuPlanningCentral.com - and watch for the menu pack offer after you sign up.

You’ll Need

* A paper plate
* Graham crackers (1 1/2 per fire truck)
* Tiny Ritz crackers (for wheels)
* Stick pretzels
* Black licorice
* Softened cream cheese (or thick frosting)
* Red food coloring
* A red jellybean, a red Dots candy, a cherry, or a strawberry

Directions:

Have an adult mix a few drops of food coloring to the cream cheese (or frosting). The children will use this edible “glue” to put their fire truck together.
Start with a whole graham cracker. Using the back of a spoon, spread some of the “glue” on one side of it.
Put half a graham cracker on top of the “glue.” This is the cab of the fire truck.
“Glue” a red jellybean, a red Dots candy, a cherry, or a strawberry on top of the cab. This is the fire truck’s red light.
“Glue” four of the tiny Ritz crackers to the sides – these are the wheels.
On the back of the truck, “glue” two pretzels parallel to each other. Then “glue” in broken pieces to make a tiny ladder.
“Glue” on a piece of licorice – this is the firehose.

You now have a tiny fire truck that is great for snack time!

This dog craft is simple and easy. Even a preschooler can make it. It makes a cute gift for your favorite dog, or a decoration. Add a magnet on the back to turn it into a doggy fridgy. Make this preschool dog craft with your child today.

Stop Feeding Your Kids Junk! – Skip the fast food and frozen TV dinners…Find out how easy it is to cook a home-cooked meal each night by planning it ahead of time. Grab your free Menu Planning Basics report at www.MenuPlanningCentral.com – and watch for the menu pack offer after you sign up.

You’ll Need

* Brown Construction Paper
* Bone-shaped dog treat
* Wiggly Eyes
* Brown & Pink Felt
* Black Pompom
* Glue
* Scissors

Directions:

To make this cute dog craft, trace a bone shape that’s a little more than double the size of the bone-shaped dog treat on the brown construction paper. Cut it out with scissors. This will be the dogs body. Place the dog treat toward the top of construction paper shape and glue it into place. This will be the dog’s head. Blue the wiggly eyes on the real dog treat as eyes. Add the pompom as the dog’s nose.

Cut two ears out of the brown felt and a small tongue out of the pink. Glue the ears to the side of the dog’s head, and the tongue toward the bottom of the doggy treat so it looks like the puppy’s tongue is hanging out.

That’s it. Of course you can decorate this little dog craft further by making a collar out of construction paper, foam or felt. Or use markers to draw it on. If this is a girl dog, you could also add a small bow out of ribbon, felt, string or even drawn on construction paper to the top of the puppy’s head.

You and your kids will also have a great time making this cute mouse magnet craft together.

Personalize a lunch box for or with your child with this easy lunch box craft. It’s easy to do and ads a fun personal touch to even the plainest lunch box.

You’ll Need

* Pair of scissors
* Masking tape
* Poster board
* Acrylic paint (at least two colors)
* Plain plastic lunchbox
* Paintbrushes (and some paintbrush cleaner)

Note: It would be a good idea to wear an apron or some old clothes!

Directions:

Draw a small bold design onto the poster board. You might choose an animal, shapes, characters – whatever you like.
Cut out the center of the design creating a stencil. Leave enough of a border around the stencil so that it can be taped into position on your lunchbox. Repeat this process until you have all the stencils you need for your design.
Tape all of the stencils in position on your lunchbox in whatever pattern you choose.
Now you can paint the stencils. Take a brush and choose a color. Dab paint through the stencils onto the lunchbox until evenly covered. Leave to dry then carefully lift the stencil off.
Take another color and using a small brush, paint your name along the center of the box or wherever you like. Make sure you space the letters out. Add some details (polka dots, stars, etc) to polish your design!

* Leftover Wrapping Paper
* Scissors
* Chenille Stem
* Clothes Pin

Directions:

Cut two pieces from the Wrapping paper. One should be a large square, the other a rectangle as wide as the square with rounded edges. Exact measurements don’t matter. The wingspan of your butterfly will be as wide as you cut the square.

Fold both pieces of paper fan-style (starting with the long side of the rectangle in front of you for the piece with the rounded edges).

The square will be your bottom wing, the rectangle your top wing.

Use the clothes pin to hold the fan folded pieces of paper.

Fold the chenille stem in half. The folded part will be the tail of your butterfly. Twist it a few times to create the bottom body of the butterfly. Add the bottom part of the wing and twist the stem once or twice to hold it in place. Repeat with the top wing. Twist the stem a few more times to create the head of your butterfly. Use the rest of the chenille stem to create your butterfly’s antennae.

Make a few more of these fun butterflies to create a butterfly mobile.

Hint – instead of wrapping paper you can also use colorful magazine and catalog pages.
