I spy...reinvented

My 2 1/2 year old daughter and I were driving home today and were stopped at a traffic light when she asked me "What's this, Mama?", while she was pointing out the window. "That's a powerpole" I replies. "No it's not Mama, what's that?". We kept going back and forth a few more times before she told me "That's a tree", with lots of conviction in her voice. It took me a few seconds to realize that she was playing "I spy" with me. The fun part to me is that she made it up herself. We've never played this before. It's nice to watch her be creative and see her imagination at work.
On that same note, we got her her first edition of Highlights for Children the other day. Some of the articles are geared toward older children, but she enjoyed the shorter ones, and loved all the pictures in it. Maybe it inspired her to reinvent "I spy".
