Weeknight Fun
My daughter and I had so much fun with this the other night, I thought I'd share.
We started off by making dinner together. Here is my recipe for an easy baked pasta dish.
Easy Baked Pasta
1 bag or box of rigattoni or penne pasta
1 jar of tomato sauce
1-2 lb of hamburger
1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
about 1 cup of cheddar cheese
Boil your pasta according to the package directions. Boil the pasta until it is al dente. Don't get it too soft, since the pasta will continue to cook while the dish bakes.
Brown the hamburger meat until it is completely done. Stir in the pasta sauce. When the sauce is heated, add 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.
Drain your pasta and put it in a backing dish. Top with the sauce mixture and stir well. Top with remaining Parmesan and shredded cheddar cheese. You can of course substitute the cheddar with any other cheese that will melt. I have used slices of provolone, swiss cheese and gouda.
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until the cheese is melted and bubbly (about 15 to 20 min.)
For desert we made some brownies from a box mix.
After dinner, we played puzzles and read books for a while.
Then my daughter (2 1/2 yrs old) took a bubble bath. I added her baby wash to the running bath water. It makes some great bubbles. It was a blast watching her play with all the bubbles.
Have a great week!
