Spring is in the Air

Hard to believe, but it looks like winter is finally coming to an end. Inspired by the nice weather we had down here in the south the last few days, I remembered how facinated I was by watching plants grow as a child.
Give these ideas a try for a funfilled day with your child. Not only will you both have a blast (who doesn't like to play with dirt?), but it also gives you an opportunity to teach your child about how plants grow and about responsibility (he or she will have to take care of the plant for the next few weeks).

Plant a Bean

Supplies:
plastic cup
potting soil
dried beans (any kind)
water

If the weather permits, you may want to do this outside, otherwise spread some newspaper on the kitchentable and be prepared to sweep afterwards.
Have you child fill the plastic cup about 3/4 th with potting soil. Then add about 4 or 5 beans. Cover with another inch of dirt. Add enough water to moisten the soil.
Keep in a warm place and water as needed. The bean sprouts should appear within a couple of days.

After all this hard work, Dirt Pudding Cups are the perfect Snack.

You'll need:
1 package each Vanilla and Chocolate Instant Pudding
Milk
1 pack oreo cookies, crushed
1 pack gummy worms

Prepare the vanilla and chocolate pudding according to box directions in two seperate bowls.

Add 1 Tbsp of crushed oreos to each desert cup.

Fill cups almost halfway with vanilla pudding.

Add 1 Tbsp of crushed oreos to each desert cup.

Fill almost to the the top with chocolate pudding.

Put the filled desert cups in the fridge until the pudding is firm.

Top with lots of crushed oreos and decorate with a few gummy worms.

Dig in!!!
